Our interns have mostly all gotten started and are working on getting some of our smaller collections reviewed and out to the public this summer. 15 interns are working in the Harvard College Library, Library of Congress Manuscripts division, Sagamore Hill National Historic Site and Theodore Roosevelt National Park collections.
We have received a major shipment of images from the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site and hope to work on the metadata of that collection quickly so that we can steadily release those materials and hopefully have the entirety of that collection out to the public by the end of the summer.
We have finished the review of the new materials from Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace and the last 40 of those items should be available in the digital library by the end of this week. With these additions, we now have 190 items from the Birthplace included in our digital library.
As of June 1st, 14,498 items are through metadata review, 12,592 of which have undergone copyright review. The total number of items in the digital library following that work is just over 11,300 items.
Our staff is still focusing on cataloging and reviewing for digital library publication Progressive Party materials in the Library of Congress collection. Our volunteers continue to catalog new materials in the 1906-1907 calendar years. Staff and Interns will be focused on metadata and copyright review on the Progressive Party materials, Sagamore Hill National Historical Site, Theodore Roosevelt National Park and the Harvard College Library collections over the coming month.
