Digitization Update: November 2011

Tuesday, December 13, 2011

We currently have:

28,007 items cataloged from ten different collections

Of that number, 11,910 items have been reviewed and 7,911 items have been reviewed for copyright concerns.

A new collection, The Library of Congress Motion Picture, Broadcasting and Recorded Sound has its first item available, a 1919 silent film by Hermann Hagedorn, Through the Roosevelt Country with Roosevelt’s Friends.

A small collection of items from the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation will be available in the next week after the last of the review is completed.

Our student worker here at the TR Center will begin inputting the metadata for the last shipment of materials from the Sagamore Hill National Historic Site later this week. The bulk of these materials are from the Ted Roosevelt collection.

Our staff is continuing to focus on metadata and copyright review of already cataloged materials as our volunteers work on continuing to catalog new materials. Metadata review is currently in incoming correspondence of early 1903 and copyright review is in Roosevelt’s correspondence from 1902 for the Library of Congress manuscript collection. Metadata and copyright review is also ongoing in the Theodore Roosevelt National Park and Harvard College Library collections.
